EUROSAFE FOAM MAKER
DESCRIPTION
Foam Maker is an air-aspirating foam release device meant to safeguard flammable liquid storage tanks on floating roofs. It can also be used to safeguard diked flammable liquid storage and spill sites. The main design parameters for foam systems are based on the NFPA11 standard. NFPA 11 defines Foam Makers as Type II discharge outlets for providing low expansion aspirated foam to the seal.
FEATURES
- 50 NB & 65 NB (2" & 2.5")
- Flow rates range from 75 to 550 LPM.
- Construction in carbon steel or stainless steel
- 2.8 to 7 bar (40 to 100 psi) working pressure
- Outside and interior epoxy painting
- The orifice is made of stainless steel.
- NFPA Compliance
SPECIFICATION
The Foam Maker is an air aspirating foam generator that is linked to the foam pourer to gently deliver aspirated foam into the tank seal region. Foam maker covers a wide variety of foam solution rates from 75 to 557 liters per minute at 2.8 to 7 kg/sq.cm intake pressure. If the design specifications change, the orifice may be field replaced. The foam is created by injecting air into the foam solution stream.
The foam maker’s intake is designed to generate a venturi jet that sucks air into the foam solution stream. The air is pulled into the foam solution through holes in the foam maker that are covered with a stainless-steel screen to keep nesting birds and insects out. The aerated foam is directed into the pourer for gradual expansion of the foam. There are several models of pourers available.
APPLICATIONS
EUROSAFE Floating Roof Foam Makers are air-aspirating foam discharge devices designed to safeguard floating roofs, flammable liquid storage tanks. The protected storage tanks must be open-top with either double-deck or pontoon-type floating roofs. This design eliminates the necessity for a vapor seal, allowing the use of foam producers rather than foam chambers. Other uses include the protection of diked flammable liquid storage and spill sites.
